The Revealing Songtext

I’ve been waiting for the call since july
I thought I’d know by the fall, but it's fine
The mystery and shape of things is oh-so-slowly revealed
I want you, and I've said as much, but that don't make it real

And my window looks out on a wall
& I’ve been counting the bricks since the fall
But what I've got here's enough dear
Even if it appears to be nothing at all

I try to say everything cuz I know there’s not much time
I rework the numbers and mess with the odds til they all say, I’m fine
When I began, I penciled in a line of where I'd be in your world
And now again, go back in pen, and see where they diverged

And my window looks out on a wall
& I’ve been counting the bricks since the fall
But what I've got here's enough dear
Even if it's nothing at all

I'll be the sunlight on a walk in the rain
I've made it a habit to burn bright and insane
call out to the cities, and the folks in their cars
Get rid of self-pity, and live it right where you are
I'll be the sunlight, we'll learn to be fine
and maybe, maybe, maybe in time
all the things in life I was born to find
were just waiting to shine

I'll be the sunlight on a walk in the rain
I've made it a habit to burn bright and insane
I'll call out to the cities, and the folks in their cars
Get rid of self-pity, and live it right where you are
I'll be the sunlight, we'll learn to be fine
and maybe, maybe, maybe in time
all the things in life that we were born to find
were just waiting to shine
all things revealed in time...
