Shape Me

While the path is the aim
I long to arrive
For a chance to be better
I struggle and strive

But no matter how hard I try
I can’t change my shape
I strive to be like water
But I’m more like concrete

I wake things to life
That should be left dead
My fear is a lie
I want to forget

I barred a door
And buried the key
I don’t know how to get back
I’m lost inside of me

I’m sorry for all the times I shut you out
This has never been about you
But my inability to communicate

Empty inside

To better times
To better selves of me
